Businesses use the same phrases as everyone else to describe who they are and what they do. These sales messages are usually full of abstract nouns. The writing is boring and it rarely pulls in the business.

A potential client has spent ages putting together an RFP (Request for Proposal). He's asked some very specific questions to which he wants some clear and concise answers so he can evaluate the replies.

Instead, he receives five arm- breaking tomes that are so dull and self-important that he has to steel himself to read them. Few submissions, if any, address the issues he raised in his invitation to tender.
