The solution is only as good as the brief
Behind every piece of marketing material lies a problem: no one's heard of you; your technology is new and risky; your property is in a poor location; your firm is smaller than its competitors; your product is late; your service is perceived as expensive...
It's all about your reader
To solve the problem, I need to understand your audience (the reader) and look at whatever it is you are trying to sell him from his point of view.
This means that the brief must be more about your audience than about you. All too often it isn't. And the result is that the words don't work.
